Maybe I shouldn’t be so happy about her size.
Maybe I should be so evolved that I don’t see size,
but when you’re big like me and struggling with body image issues,
you look for it.
You look at other fat bodies.
Today I couldn’t stop gawking at a grad student’s fuscia coat.
I gawked so hard I had to explain myself.
She said she got it at Fashion Bug online.
I didn’t even know they carried real people sizes!
Yes, that’s my term for plus sizes today: real.
I was so captivated by the bright color and her confidence
I couldn’t take my eyes off her.
